CELEBRATION OF JERRY’S LIFE SERVICE will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong with Bro. George Meese officiating. Burial will follow in the Berlin Cemetery, rural Oblong.

Gerald D. “Jerry” Adams, 75, 0f Oblong, IL formerly of Marshall, IL passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at his residence.
Jerry was born in Clark County, Illinois near Dennison on January 15, 1940. He was the son of John William Adams and Katherine (Beal) Adams. On June 22, 1973, he married Ruth Irene Midgett in Westfield, IL.
Jerry worked at various businesses which included surveying and heavy equipment operator in Gary, IN.; Endsley’s Food and Produce, Robinson, IL.; Deeter’s Machine and Welding, Oblong, IL.; TRW in Marshall, IL and Victor Dana in Robinson, IL as a warehouseman from 1973 until his retirement in 2005. Jerry moved to Robinson, IL. from Marshall, IL in 1970.
Jerry graduated from Marshall High School in 1958. He had been a member of the Methodist Church in Marshall, IL. He enjoyed raising pigs, chickens, and cattle, gardening and mushroom hunting. He especially enjoyed being with family and the time he spent with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jerry is survived by his wife Ruth Adams of Oblong, IL.; two sons and daughters-in-laws Arthur R. and Tricia Adams of Oblong, IL and John J. and Cindy Adams of Terre Haute, IN.; three daughters and sons-in-laws Paula J. and Rodney Myers of Flat Rock, IL, Vickie L. and Randy Sholders of Oblong, IL and Mary Katherine Adams of Marshall, IL; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two brothers and a sister-in-law Rex Adams of Lynchburg, VA and Dana and Dawn Adams of Marshall, IL.; also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Jerry in death were his parents, 2 infant children, a son Gerald Dean Adams, Jr.; two daughters, Peggy Sue Adams and Robin Lynn Adams.
